Shayna Peters

Hi! My name is Shayna Peters, and I’m so excited to be teaching Grade 6 Language Arts, Social Studies, Religion/Wellness, and Choir for Grades 6 to 9 this year.

Joining the team at St. Mary’s feels a lot like coming home. As a former student, some of my favorite middle school memories come from playing volleyball all three years and being part of the Fine Arts Academy. If you look closely, there might even be a few photos of me still hanging in the halls!

Outside of school, time is often spent camping or playing endless board games with family. In the warmer months, I love being outside, whether that’s hiking, kayaking, playing slow pitch, or taking my dog Blu to the park. When winter rolls around, it’s all about getting cozy, watching musicals, snowboarding, and trying to learn a new instrument.

I’m also a big sports fan and especially enjoy cheering on local teams like the Mavericks and the Tigers. Fun fact: when I was younger, I used to sing the national anthem at some of their games!

I’m really looking forward to being part of the St. Mary’s community again and can’t wait to meet everyone.
