Constable Chad Laviolette

School Resource Officer
I was born in Windsor, Ontario and spent a large portion of my life in Detroit, Michigan. During that time, I was immersed in a plethora of athletics which logically transitioned to my involvement within the community and coached numerous core city athletics. I was a multi-sport intercollegiate athlete during my time in college and university. While in school I was working as an industrial fire fighter / medic for over 7 years. I have been a police officer for 18 years with the first 11 years being with the Calgary Police Service. I am currently on the Medicine Hat Tactical Unit and have multiple roles within that team.
Through my upbringing and career, I have developed an enthusiasm for working with/learning from youth and I understand the importance of a positive adult role model. I have three children of my own; two of which are currently in elementary school. I have played football most of my life and I am passionate about strength and conditioning. I play ice hockey a bit too much and I still train in the gym habitually.
I have never been emersed in a Monday to Friday work schedule in over 25 years and look forward to the change. I am excited to be working with school administration, teachers, and students to create long lasting fruitful relationships.
